What Life Would Be Like Without Rock Music

Music is life. It gets into your veins, moves you, makes you dance, and rallies people together. What would the world be like if music didn-t exist? What if rock music wasn-t around? If John Lennon and Paul McCartney had never met? If Elvis had never been crowned King? What if bands we know and love had fallen victim to censorship regulations?

Rock is synonymous with rebellion and shock. It is here to fuel the youth and get your attention. The world was stunned when Elvis Presley shook his hips on national television and tried to censor his image. Songs like “American Idiot’ by Green Day mocked the era of George W. Bush openly. System of a Down-s “Chop Suey!’ hit number one on music charts despite politically sensitive lyrics after September 11th. Bands like Rage Against the Machine made a career out of politically motivated lyrics and opinionated standpoints.

Rock music is here to shock, entertain, and keep life interesting. It cannot and will not be silenced. Without rock, life would remain uneventful, boring, tedious and plain. Without rock, our generation would not understand the value of questioning authority, breaking down barriers, or fighting for the right to party.
